What Is Equine Facilitated Occupational Therapy?

Not all children work well indoors, and some of us just love horses. Equine Facilitated Occupational Therapy can bring fun and learning together.

While still remaining true to Occupational Therapy structures and practices, we facilitate learning journeys with our beautiful horses.

What can we work on?

If there is something you need or want to do, OT’s help you work out the best way you can achieve these goals.

For Equine Facilitated Therapy, we typically work on areas such as;

  • Emotional self regulation

  • Social Skills

  • Executive functioning

  • Upper limb co-ordination (bi-manual skills)

  • Core strength

  • Anxiety

When combined, the development of these skills can have a positive impact on ones ability to perform their activities of daily living.
